Since IMDB message boards are closed down, thought I'd throw this out here. When I first saw the Black Swan preview, before it was released in theaters, for some reason it immediately struck me as having vibes of a terrific anime called Perfect Blue (seriously, if you like Black Swan, check out Perfect Blue). It definitely carries over the spirit of that anime. As a side note, Darren Aronofsky saw Perfect Blue prior to his groundbreaking (if a bit too pretentious) work that put him on the map Requiem For A Dream, and bought the rights to Perfect Blue solely because he loved the underwater bathtub scream scene, which he replicated nearly shot-for-shot in Requiem. Years later, the influence Perfect Blue had on him made another appearance in the themes of Black Swan.
