Discussão Happy Death Day

.... and I didn't care for PG-13 horror then either!

This has one of the most interesting looking trailers (Feeling like Groundhog Day meets Final Destination), but when I saw that it was PG-13 rated, that's when I realized it's probably going to be watered down and the theater will be crawling with teens on their cell phones Tweeting, SnapChatting, and texting throughout the movie. What's more they are going to e loud and obnoxious throughout the screening, going as far as yelling out spoilers they predicted or read in a status update!

Yup, one of the most interesting movie ideas I've heard of in years, and already it's going to attract the wrong audience! PS: Had this been made in 1997/1998, it would've been shot for an R-rating and been a hit, even if at the time it would have felt like a Scream clone!

I thought this was a remake of happy birthday to me. It looks interesting, but I wish horror wouldn't confine itself. We should let it evolve, grow and thrive naturally. That is what created the horror boom in the 80s. Sure there were cuts as time went on yet those were franchises pushing limits with each new installment.

I wouldn't mind another bloody Valentine or friday the 13th

It didn't feel watered down to me. It's more of a comedy, so the lack of on screen gore didn't bother me much.

I liked it too. It was more of a comedy in the same vein as The Baby Sitter, which was Home Alone with Violence, this was Groundhog Day with Violence. It's PG-13 as all the violence is pretty much directed at one person, who keeps coming back. So bloodless is kind of the point. Even so, the deaths were pretty creative and there were some blood (from collateral victims). To make it R rated wouldn't have served the storyline anymore than the current version already did.

I agree with everything you wrote, but also wanted to add: this was way better than The Babysitter.

I'll check it out when it comes out on netflicks
