Discuss The Nun

Story is generally weak, but the location (old Romania and filmed at a Castle), the spooky sets and atmosphere alone are worth the price of a ticket. Of course there IS something creepy as he11 about The Nun herself!

I didn't think it was too bad. There were some scary parts and some freaky parts. The fact I saw it at a drive-in (with it's somewhat darker picture) might have helped fill in some of the imagery on the screen with more of my imagination.

I thought it was a well thought out story and the plot executed nicely. I really believed that Valak was a very powerful demon from Hell. The director did a good job. I'd place this movie 3rd in the line of The Conjuring universe.

It wasn't as scary as it could have been due to the comedy bits with Frenchie. After the first few scenes of him cracking jokes, it was difficult to be scared whenever he showed up.

It was like 3 jokes in an hour and a half movie. Hardly a comedic performance.

I wasn't counting but I'm sure he appeared in more than three scenes. He pretty much was the comic relief in this.

nope, not at all... not a comedy

No one was saying this is a comedy in any way. He was simply saying that one guy was cracking jokes; which by the way I noticed too. He would make a sarcastic comment now and then to make him and possibly the others around him feel better nothing more. Yea, when ever that guy was around; nothing (that I can recall) bad ever happened.

I didn't say he was in only three scenes. I said that he only made a few jokes throughout the whole movie. What makes that a horror comedy? Are people that desperate for a laugh?

His sarcasm was comic relief but it wasn't a comedic performance.

Who said it was a comedic performance? Nobody is saying that.

Do you have a personal investment in the film or something? Why so touchy about an observation made of a character? No one has ever brought up that this was a horror comedy or wanting a laugh.

No, I don't have a personal investment in the film. I wish I did. It's not a problem. I probably misunderstood you point entirely. Sorry.

Wait... what? You can't be serious, right?

The guy made like 3 mid-jokes/sarcasms during the entire movie...

I rate the movie 7/10. It's a good horror movie.

However, it has several plot holes that make no sense.
