Despite the poor trailers, I had a really good time with this film.

yep, thought it was spot on. pitch perfect, potentially a future cult classic in it's genre

I don't know if future cult classic but sometimes you just want to see a fun movie with a few jump scares and evil nazis getting killed.

Thought it was very mediocre. One of those movies you will watch once, and will probably never want to see again. Didn't think the whole secret raising the dead to life serum even added anything to the movie. The movie would've worked equally well, or badly, even if that whole part of the plot would've been taken out, and they had made a normal old WWII war movie.

Have to disagree, that part MADE the film what it is. It would have been a different movie otherwise (a "normal" WWII movie, as you say).

It was just okay to me. You just have to not think about all the dumb shiat the good guys were doing.

I don't really get the hype either. It reminded me of a low budget "Planet Terror". They just changed the setting to Nazi occupied France during World War 2. I thought Planet Terror was a lot more fun and had a better cast.

I had no idea what I was in for. Since I hand't seen the trailer for like what seemed like two months; all I could remember was well, nothing about it till the movie started. When I saw the movie was taking place during WWII, I started to remember the trailer in a way that it was some sort of war movie...nothing more. Still, I had no idea what I was in for. Then the weird stuff started happening, and I started like freaking out! Like what the hell is this all about? From that point on it was a roller coaster ride, and I was loving every minute of it.
(SPOILER) I liked in the end how the soldier told them there was nothing to see back in those areas (knowing how bad things could turn out if they started looking again.)

Good movie, but i didn't like the main character and the ending was a bit too convenient for a story like this.

But you have to admit it does set it up for a sequel even if it was too convenient.

Hmmm, idk what they could do in a sequel. Maybe it could happen years after the war with the US government finding the serum

I think it would be more like an Alien movie where you have a new generation of people who don't know anything about what they're in for when going back to explore based on old rumors; only to find out it's true, very true!

I will say it's not historically accurate. I mean black soldiers were segregated for the most part. Certainly not in leadership roles leading white First Airborne troops. It's a shameful part of our history.
But does the movie work? Hell yes. An excellent war film with Kurt Russell's son being a perfect match for his dad -- with all the energy and charm of Big Trouble in Little China. There's one of those fast-talking New Yorker soldiers you see in all WWII movies. And the effect and action are thrilling.
The horror stuff is just perfect.
If you like bloody horror, or old-fashioned war movies this one is for ya.
