I'm wondering if the current batch of completed/near-completion/in production movies will be the last that are even going to hope for theatrical release.
This seems like an obvious (?) choice but why don't they just release them on a streaming channel & charge the same or maybe a couple of dollars more than they would in a theater (not 30.00, like Disney did with Mulan)? I know I would miss the big screen experience that is needed for certain movies (Bond), etc. But otherwise, I personally would prefer to watch at home.
That's just it, brat. I've seen the trailer for this film, and it clearly deserves to be shown on big screens. I'm writing this based on how it was shot.

I know but I was really speaking more about the others. I hate going to a theater (too loud, overpriced, etc.), last time I went was to see Spectre. I always go during the middle of the week, in the early evening & a couple of weeks after a movies release (don't like too many people around). There aren't any theaters open in my town anyway. The closest are two Regal theaters about 28 miles from here (and I live in a large city).
No if the world gets a hold of itself and Covid dies down and things go back to normal. What are the odds that they get released in late 2021? Or would studios still like to play it safe and wait?

Wow this pushed The Batman to 2022! We getting anything good in 2021 anymore? Or are studios playing it to safe thanks to Covid?

And on HBO+ right along the theatrical debut in December. They basically killed any chance at a sequel getting green lit. :/

The hope was there. Word of mouth would have helped since the fan base, small, but loyal could have done it. But with streaming, that hope is killed.

Star Wars did phenomenal at the box office.
Don’t forget, Zendaya looks to be coming into her own as a box office sensation, too.

It's been delayed again but only by 3 weeks this time to avoid Bond.
I doubt anyone cares anymore about either film.

They both got the shaft thanks to Covid.
