Well considering that filming has completed & it will not be released until December of 2020, there might be more CGI than you want/expect? I'm not an expert on how long 'post-production' takes, but does it take 18 months to complete?

Yes and no. Im sure there will be plenty of CGI but I think it will be sprinkled into real life seats and models. BR2049 was a fantastic example of that, you could tell when they used CGI for the obvious shots but most you couldnt tell. I hope they go the same route. As for the push back, post may just be giving themselves enough time to put everything together and not rush it. After all Dune is a huge and complicated story, loved by millions, you cant rush something like that. You have to please the fans, but you also have to make it accessible by the general public.
I think the hardest park for the production will be the editing. Since the film will be split into two halfs. And also the pacing. BR2049 had a very slow pace to it, I enjoyed it but the general public didnt like it apparently. Dune cant be a slug fest to get thru. I just hope they can strike a fine balance.
I am a big fan of the first 4 or maybe 5 books (didn't care for Chapterhouse), tried to read his son's first 2, wasn't impressed (they are in a box somewhere). I was excited about Lynch's film, I didn't agree with some of the casting choices & also wish it had been longer, but overall it was good. Since I had read the books, I knew what was going on, but the person I saw the film with was totally confused.
I'm hoping that this version is going to be great? Would like to see some trailers though. Maybe they will spread them out to keep it in everyone's mind?
The two mini-series were cheesy, the first more than the second.
Thats the hurdle they need to get over, making sure the common man dosent get confused. Fans will be fine with the story/plot but I can def see joe blow of the street getting annoyed and losing interesting because they dont understand what is happening in the film. I dont know, I have very high hopes for this. I just really hope they dont dumb it down to much and are able to balance everything out.
With Chalamet filling Paul Atriedes's shoes, we're likely to witness the most metro sexualized rendition of a classic sci-fi character, this side of Tom Dekker's portrayal of John Connor in The Sarah Connor Chronicles
Why stop there? Lets turn Paul bi and have him have an orgy with Stil and Chani.

I wonder if Chani will wear a skimpy costume, like Sting did in the David Lynch version of this. Have Zendaya looking hotter than July.
