Discuss The Suicide Squad

Funny, bloody, good characterization. Not much to complain about. The soundtrack wasn't that great, that's about it.

Definitely enjoyed this more than the first one (which I can't even remember much). Plus this had some Spongebob vibes lol

Loved the beginning, which kind of set the tone for the whole film, and especially the part where they jump from the helicopter in to the water and poor Weasel is splashing around and drowns because he can't even swim and the army dude is yelling 'Did anyone check on whether the Weasel could swim??!!". Definitely an improvement over the first one.

poor Weasel

You mean Weasel the one who kills children lol

Also did you see the post credit scene with Weasel?

I like. Very nice.

I don't suppose Margot Robbie slipped back into those mircoshorts that she wore in the first movie. Apparently, she decided to forego them in the solo Harley Quinn movie

Naw but she was great in this one she is best by far as part of an ensemble not as the primary character.

I didn't want to watch this movie. I only did because I'm a DC fan. I didn't care for the first Suicide Squad and didn't expect much from this installment. Damn, I'm glad I did!!! It is such a fun ride.

The first fight, at the beginning of the movie, had me wondering what was going on. Then they introduced the real team and I thought they were lame. Polka-dot Man? Really? I was so wrong. They were all awesome and I think Gunn did a very good job at making the viewer care about all of them. Hell, I'd love a Polka-dot Man movie. He's a MFing super hero!!!

I thought the pacing was pretty good and didn't feel like there were any boring scenes. Every scene was good for a laugh. I went into it not knowing who Milton was. I definitely know now. RIP Milton.

IMO, they really put this one in a blender with added pebbles. I haven't read any DC comic books since, well, my teens which is probably closer to 30 years now, plus I live in Sweden and we don't have the same comic book culture, or at least not where I grew up. Sort of out-grew it. Always been fond of the genre or type and all that, but I haven't kept track of the characters since then, and there's been a lot of development regarding characters, new ones etc.

Anyway, some are somewhat familiar that appear in these DC-movies (Of course I've seen most of them since childhood), apart from the obvious ones like Batman, Joker, Harley Quinn etc. But, to the point. What they did with this sequel was horrendous. Just when you've gotten used to these characters (Apart from Weasel - Really disturbing character!) that were in the first movie, you sit there wonder what the hell they were thinking while writing this garbage. You see screen shots with actors or finding them on imdb, linked to certain roles and then you expect them to have some, well, role in the movie, only to get very disappointed 20 or so minutes into the movie (A.k.a. the beach-scene!). That almost ruined the entire movie for me. Rick Flag was the nail in the coffin though. Last death twitches was Peacemaker in the end.

I think DC's problem, or at least one of them, is that they mix supernatural crap (Ghosts, gods, demons, angels etc) into their "universe", compared to Marvel (Which sometimes has these elements, but mostly written off as unverified and regarded as aliens or due to technological events/happenings). Like the whole plot in the first movie which I found ridiculous at best. CGI was quite good, characters... Meh, not "super"(good), but good enough (Harley was THE bomb! Even in this one!), but this movie. Yikes. I did however appreciate that they didn't make this starfish to be some mythical creature, but rather an alien (Come to think of it, I didn't pay that much attention regarding the origin as I found it a little too predictable and, quite frankly a bit silly with the whole concept).

I'd be surprised if there's going to be another sequel to this one. Wow. Just had a look, and there's a third one on it's way, apparently. I hope they don't do a "Petsematary" (as in bury it there and have it resurrected, all twisted & perverted, like in the movie) of this franchise, and put it out of it's misery!

Possibly a remake with someone who can write a script that won't make you cringe would maybe help.

I rated this 2 of 5.

Very good.

Didn't care much for this movie initially as the first Suicide Squad was huge let down but had to give it a try after hearing great things about it and I must say it did not disappoint. Overall a really fun and witty film with quirky comic book chaos in it!

It was a bit all over the place.
