I just love this movie and all the actors in it. Gregory Peck was perfect as Paul Scott, the heir to a steel mill. As was the lovely Greer Garson who played Mary Rafferty the irish maid, she was perfection. Lional Barrymore played his usual cantankerous self, the father of Mary.
It was also nice to see Gladys Cooper as a warm loving mother. It's not often I've seen her in this type of role.

Ah, nice to find someone else who liked this! It is a very good romance, with a very young and handsome Gregory Peck. This was only his third film. As a devoted fan of Lionel Barrymore, I do agree that he was extremely cantankerous in this, though no one could play a curmudgeon like old Lionel! Greer Garson is another of my favorites, and she was really beautiful in this. I thought the confrontation on the bridge was very tense and well-acted, and was probably one of the best scenes in the movie, and certainly the most memorable.
