I love the 1990's BBC version. The keira knightley version is quite romantic too. For some reason, I find the novel Elizabeth to be a bit cruel and not very likable.
My favorite is probably the movie because it is short enough to enjoy in one sitting. But the tv version is probably the best version.

I liked the 1995 BBC Drama series with Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy and Jennifer Ehle as Elizabeth Bennet. It was just like how I pictured them when reading the novel.

The BBC version is usually considered the best of all the adaptations. It was also the first version I ever saw. Excellent film, very rewatchable!

lol haven't seen that, but I saw a Bollywood version and Bridget Jones - supposed to be based on P&P (and Darcy )
Same here! plus the song Collide I remember played during the trailer and wanted to watch it. Nobody wanted to watch with me so I went alone haha, my first time ever lol I will need to rewatch BBC version when I have time, I was not so interested when I first saw in school during English class.

My favorite is the movie for the same reason as you, it's short enough to enjoy at any time. And the way Matthew Macfadyen, as Mr. Darcy, would look at Elizabeth made me swoon. l Love the BBC also, of course, but because of the length, it's hard to revisit.
I also agree with you about the book. Book Elizabeth isn't as likable as movie or series version.

I never liked the casting of Keira Knightley in the movie version. She's far too pretty and charming to be a convincing Lizzie Bennett.
The 1940 film is a lot better, although Greer Garson is certainly too old.

Totally agree with you there. Loved that version and Colin Firth made the perfect Mr Darcy

I've read the novel (and the original). I guess you're saying the movie is worth watching?

Definatly. It keeps a lot of the Jane Austin plot, and it's a kick to see demure English your ladies that not only wear swords, but know how to use them.

I watched the trailer and saw Downton Abbey meets zombies. I wondered what happened to their cousin when the show ended.

Yes, I really think you should see it. I remember when the book came out, it was such a novelty and original mashup. I rented it at Redbox. I don't know if you have one where you live, but you can rent it for two dollars a day.

The book and the TV series are the best, but the earlier TV series and the film are good enough- although, I'm not too fond of Keira's portrayal, and also, Lost In Austen is ok, but I really hate Death comes to Pemberley

@Joe: Have you seen Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and if you have, what is your opinion about it?
