The German spelling of the title follows the German usage of the French word "Varieté" – see e. g. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Varieté. It is not recognizable that deviating from the general linguistic usage the wrong spelling "Variete" was used.

By the way, we should not rely on the spelling of IMDb – it is just as wrong as the spelling used here so far.

fixed, by the way you are right IMDB has massive mistakes with spelling for non-english titles or names
