Tom portrayed the character well, but IMO he was too childish.
Spider-Man has always been an inherently childish character. IMO, Ton Holland portays 'Perter the screw up' better than Tobey Macguire, which is more authentic for the character. Not that I dislike Tobey I just think Tom is better m
I like the "new guy"'s Peter Parker but not really a fan of the Iron-Spider-Man suit...
Yeah, I really dislike that suit. He looks like a glittering power ranger. When you watch a Spiderman film you want to see Spiderman. And that suit just looks like any interchangeable CGI superhero.
That was one thing I didn't like about Infinity War. When you have all those superheroes in one film you want to see them as they are supposed to look. That's part of the spectacle. And Iron Man and Spiderman looked almost the same. Both looked like red robo-cgi.

My pick is Holland, and I am entertained by the Iron Spider suit. Since Marvel got Spidey, they've made him very high tech. The thing about Tobey's Spidey is, I tolerated him even though he did feel too old to me. Read those old Spider-Man comic books and you'll see that Peter Parker was a nerdy kid.
I hope that Marvel scales back the spectacle somewhat for their third film with Holland, Zendaya, etc. Maybe don't make the cast so big and focus on telling a really engaging story.

Spider-Man should be a teenager, not a 30 year old.

Tobey, because he was a more believable Spider-Man to me, and not a little kid marking out for Tony Stark in every film.
I enjoyed Homecoming, but as a whole, Tom Holland hasn't totally blown me away.

Holland.
Toby always had an unlikeable quality about him that shone through that and he couldn't hold an emotion to save his life.

And Tobey Maguire's my fave. His performance blends with Sam Raimi's vision. It all works perfectly. But I do think Holland does a good job.
