You know when they are are assaulting those mobile missile launchers in the end a tank appears out of nowhere, and they don't really have any way to defeat it with their small arms. Luckily said tank also disappears into nowhere in the very next scene and is never heard from again.
Also, not to be that guy, and I know the military has serving members from all races and ethnicities and religions, but I couldn't help, but to wonder during the movie whether or not the ODA unit was portrayed quite honestly with the "token" mexican and black members. Sure enough they show a picture of the real unit during the end credits and it seems to be just 12 caucasian guys. Again not trying to make it a race thing, but why diminish the actual unit's accomplishments by portraying them as something they are not.
Wasn't this supposed to be an elite military unit anyways? What is an obviously overweight and out of shape Michael Pena doing in the unit? Couldn't they hire everyone a personal trainer or something.

I just saw this and the scene in question is a little fuzzy. They seem to neutralise the threat by shooting the gunner on top of the tank, but that's it. Tbh that whole scene was a bit crap, all the Taliban had to do was shoot them head on.
A mainstream film about a group of 12 American men...hmm...you gotta have a black guy. But in all seriousness, I did think this too. I guess the filmmakers wanted to be politically correct. I'm wondering if they got permission from the real guys to have a black and Hispanic actor play them?
Lol. I guess they explained this where he says he used to be a teacher?! IIRC the photo at the end that shows the real guys, not all looked in shape. But yeah, you're right...it does seem odd that they couldn't get him into shape just a bit.
