Discuss 12 Strong

Even though many of us lived through this horrific event; there was quite a lot I learned about this war by watching this movie. I thought this was one of the better war movies I've seen.

It was OK until the last 30 minutes and then it turned it another war movie with a s hitty choreographed long battle sequence that gave me a headache. 6/10 for me. It was OK for a one time watch but I doubt I would ever watch it again.

I thought this movie was pretty good...gave it 3 of 5 stars . I learned a little of the first battles over there and you appreciate the sacrifice our soldiers make every day. I liked it.

I felt the same way. I remember when Donald Rumsfeld read that statement, so it cements the narrative in time. Looking back you can see how naïve it all was--or we all were--but it takes nothing from the courage displayed by those first contacts of war. I found the dialog at end haunting, where the general says something like "If you stay you will be our enemy, and if you leave you will be cowards." Given the mess of a final pull out in 2021, this 2018 film was all but prophetic.
