This is the usual people doing things for no explicable reason type of movie with the odd bit of psychobabble thrown in. One wonders why you would trust a man with your life who has already exposed you to a violent death and then call said man "no killer" after he had killed about a million "toads" - one of which he didn't mind copulating with but I guess all modern movies have to have a sex scene so it was either that or a gay one. There is also a temperamental front door that can be kicked in one minute and invincible the next and a seemingly endless supply of ammunition - why they would have ammunition on an uninhabited, barren of flora and fauna island in the middle of nowhere is another mystery. I have no idea what the circle of stones and the boat was supposed to represent or why Gunter would deliberately entice the "toads" to their deaths if all he had to do was have Aneuris shut her row up.
