Discuss The Vikings

Always loved this film - can't believe it's almost sixty years old now!

Beautiful score, once heard never forgotten, and the Viking burial at the end could bring a tear to a glass eye...

I always rooted for Kirk Douglas in this! And was glas Kirk got his revenge two years later. LOL

In the opening scene, Ernest Borgnine rapes the queen of England.

And he is presented as a semi-sympathetic character.

I'd say that was daring for the 50s.

(I'm glad he got to die with a sword in his hands. Valhalla I am coming!)

Also, this was the film that clued me in as to who Jamie Lee Curtis's parents were.
