The music in this film is unforgettable. I love the scene where they're kissing in the apartment room in that eerie green light and the camera spins around them and that music is playing.

The composer supposedly modeled the musical style on Richard Wagner's love-story opera TRISTAN AND ISOLDE. Wagner once said of the opera: "played properly, this should render the listener insane".
