The character breakdowns all over the net could be misinformation to throw us off guard.

May not be pre teen Ghostbusters, the mother and her kids could be the Spengler family or the Shandor family(the Gozer worshiping family) or clients like Dana Barrett because their home is haunted.

IM THINKING THE FAMILY IS EGON'S DAUGHTER AND GRANDCHILDREN..POSSIBLY HE SENDS THEM A MESSAGE ABOUT SOMETHING TERRIBLE COMING.OR THEY'RE THE REASON THE O.G. GHOSTBUSTERS COME BACK TOGETHER.

More likely the reason the Ghostbusters come back in business with the likely return of Dan Ackroyd and Ernie Hudson with rookie team members.

They are either filling in the role of Oscar or getting a Goosebumps thing going on.

If they're the Ghostbusters how are they gonna drive Ecto 1 and no parents would allow their kids with nuclear accelerators on their backs. It seems more plausible they are sidekicks or taking on the role of Oscar.

My guess because it's thirty years since Ghostbusters 2 the characters ' sons and daughters would be thirty year olds and their grandchildren would be young teens.
