Yes, I'm being really immature. I tried to fight it. For about 10 seconds. But I failed. You know the vast majority of you dismissed this. But I had a feeling in my gut since I saw the very first feature and screenshot that this would be great. Alas, my ravings fell on deaf ears, dismissed as the rantings of a madman. But my crazy prophecy has come true!

Don't rub you're eyes. You are not dreaming. That 100% score is actually there.

I have a good feeling about this one, its gonna scale back the mindless action & metal on metal mash ups for more of an E.T. type storyline (which is fine by me). Me & my teenage son definitely wanna see this one.

I just fear the ONE good TF movie may be overshadowed by some tough Box Office competition (Spider-verse, Aquaman, Mary Poppins, Bumblebee & Welcome to Marwen all opening within a 2 week window)

Yeah, they keep doing this kind of thing, bunching up their big releases so they all steal each others box office. Makes absolutely no sense. But in this case I think Mary Poppins is the kind of film that would would struggle in this day and age. It's far too twee for today's culture. I think Aquaman is gonna be gash and be DC's worst flop to date and Spider-verse seems like a risky venture while Marwen is a completely different audience. Spider-verse and Marwen are definitely the only other ones I'm interested in.

Though I will be disagreeing with this being the 'one good TF movie'. There are 3 for me. If you count the old cartoon movie. And I will defend the first Bay film to the grave. It was well received by many on initial release. It's only because the diabolical sequels (which had different writers) tarnished it's reputation that everyone tends to throw them all in together. It actually had some heart and charm to it with a touch of Spielberg. And a bit of self awareness. The sequels dropped all that in favour of unrelenting, over the top, fratboy type humour.

I actually caught an early screening of this film on Saturday. Rest assured guys this is the best Transformers movie since the original animated one. I agree with the reception it was surprisingly good. Honestly though once I learned Travis Knight was the director I had a good feeling. The guy directed the excellent animated feature Kubo and the Two Strings.

I for one loved the influences of films such as Iron Giant, E.T. as well as a bunch of other 80's movie. I myself am a huge fan of the Spielberg touch this film had. Please go out and see it once it comes out.

Bask in the glory of it my friend! I had zero expectations for this, but after I saw the first trailer I thought it would be better than all the other Transformers. Not to mention I dig the old school G1 look...I think its called G1 anyway. Looking forward to seeing this.

A sequel to Aquaman is already in the works and taken $100 million in China in its first week so your razor sharp prediction of it's failure is crashing harder than the movie.

Haha, dude I just defended the first Transformers film. I just painted a giant, flashing, glow in the dark bullseye with neon lights right on my asshole. You could have torn it to shreds and you chose to pick me up on Aquaman? I gave you an early christmas present. I dunno, sounds like someone's slacking :p.

But anyway, if Aquaman is good then great. I've never really been able to enjoy underwater action scenes. I don't know why. So I don't think the film will be for me no matter how good it is. I've got nothing against the film personally. It's nothing to do with DC or comic book movie prejudices.

Does Michael Bay have any influence over this film? If so I will pass. I watched the first 2 Transformers. 1 was good, but 2 was appalling so I stopped watching them, then when I heard Anthony Hopkins was going to be in the last one, I thought maybe it might be good if he signed up to it, but boy was I wrong. I was angry with myself for going to the cinema to see it. What a pile of shite and was disappointed that Hopkins agreed to do it.

I don't want to be burned again, which is why I'm asking if Michael Bay touched this film at all.

Thanks in advance. grinning

He does have a producers credit I believe. But from what I can gather the film is not like his films at all. It's directed by Travis Knight who apparently has a real affection for the source material. His style is quite different from Bay's. So I think you should give it a go.

Yeah, number 2 was such a disappointment. And the last one? Oh my God, even by Transformer sequel standards it was an absolute travesty. By far the worst of the bunch. An absolute abomination.

That is why I was so angry at myself. I should have known better and it was in 4D as well. The worst 4D experience I have ever had and it went on and on and on. All they did was blow cold air throughout and move the chair a few times. Like there was no imagination to that aspect at all. The best 4D experience I went to was the recent "Fast and Furious" and "The Mummy". The scene when the planing is falling was so much fun in the moving chairs.

Ok, I'm trusting you guys. wink

That sounds distracting rather than immersive. Doesn't sound fun at all.

Remember Anthony Hopkins does do a lot of bargain basement stuff these days. He's def sold out so I wouldn't take his presence as a suggestion of quality any more.

That's the spirit. Hope you have fun!

lol...I hear ya on the 1st TF movie..it actually IS good (my bad) as is the animated '86 movie (though I wouldn't say the plot of that one is ULTRA tight...more of a passing of the torch flick with some really awesome scenes).

Aquaman looks like its gonna clean up house. Every girl I've talked to wants to see it because of Momoa alone! This guy is gonna be a HUGE draw!

Yes I’m one of those ladies. 🤣 Got tickets for Friday. Can’t wait.

ahhh but what a torch passing flick. It's like a coming of age movie, buddy-buddy, war film, tearjerker and space adventure all rolled into one and rapped in the most cheese-tastic, air punching 80s rock tunes. I love how it's so ruthless. Megatron gunning down loads of main characters. So many bits give me goosebumps. It's my ultimate beer movie!

lol. I think I broke my VHS tape from so many repeated viewings of he animated movie. Although its chock full of great moments, NOTHING to this day in Transformerdom beats Optimus' run through the Decepticon army by himself...Megatron must be stopped...no matter the cost! Holy shizz dude, I used to pretend I was doing that at Laser Tag ALL the time!! hahahahaha
