3.) On Genios, all the other results are from the news paper "Nordwest-Zeitung" in Oldenburg. Unfortunately, you have to pay for access to see the full texts. I don't want to pay, but I played around with my search input and read the text snippets around them. It seems those results are tv guide pages read by automatic text recognition software of the original paper - and they are pretty good! dark_sunglasses So, I spent some time right now, and I can confirm that there was an earlier broadcast on another regional network, Radio Bremen, with these air dates:

Radio Bremen, Fridays: 11.9.1987 / 18.9.1987 / 25.9.1987 / 2.10.1987 / 9.10.1987 / 16.10.1987

Sidenotes:

  • in comparison to Genios, the reviewer Gerd Bucerius is 1 week off with all of his dates on both regional networks! According to Genios, the broadcast on Bayern 3 started on September 16th and ended on October 21st, while the broadcast on NDR 3 started on September 22nd and ended on October 27th;
  • all episodes on NDR 3 were split in half and broadcast with a very short children's programm inbetween;
  • the text snippets for the broadcast on NDR 3 mention German titles for all episodes as follows: "Lauter Abschied" / "Nach Italien!" / "Der englische Vetter" / "Fünf Jahre warten" / "Nächtliche Verlobung" / "Treulich geführt" - with the exception of "Nächtliche Verlobung", the snippets for Radio Bremen do not mention these titles, but that might be because of print restrictions - I think TMDb could use those titles as German original titles;
  • on August 29, 1987, Radio Bremen aired an introduction to the series called "Sommer in Lesmona. Peter Beauvais dreht eine Fernsehserie" (25 minutes) - Bayern 3 aired the same on September 11th - this could be added as a special episode, if that's allowed for mini series';

4.) However, the broadcast on Radio Bremen wasn't the first -> despite the fact that the series was created/produced by Radio Bremen. Apparently, there is a Dutch news paper archive called "Krantenbank Zeeland" online here:

https://krantenbankzeeland.nl

Now you can look for "Lesmona" in "1987", and you will end up with 15 results:

https://krantenbankzeeland.nl/search?query=Lesmona&period=1987&submit=zoeken

If you spend some time looking through the results, you'll find out that the series also aired on another regional network, WDR 3, with these air dates:

WDR 3, Wednesdays: 26.8.1987: "Lauter Abschied" / 2.9.1987 / 9.9.1987 / 16.9.1987 / 23.9.1987 / 30.9.1987

In my opinion, these are the earliest original air dates -> TMDb should definitely use these dates and I think also the German name titles.

5.) According to 1 result on Genios, the feature film was broadcast on September 14th, 1988 on (main) network ARD, with the same title, but shorter (105 minutes). You can find the date August 14th, 1988 elsewhere, but it's wrong according to Genios and these two Dutch tv guides: ONE and TWO. I think September 14th, 1988 is the correct date.

6.) In regards to the differences between the miniseries and the feature film, there are different opinions. Basically, most people say it's the same content condensed, for example the text here:

On the other hand, the official website of Radio Bremen states that a new version was filmed:

Also, people who watched both versions are uncertain as well; for example, compare those 2 German posts about the differences:

If I had to guess and to decide without knowing the content, I would consider the feature film a duplicate of the miniseries and delete the movie entry on TMDb. But this is an uninformed opinion. sunny

EDIT:

There's also an official (archived) webpage by network Radio Bremen about the production here:

https://web.archive.org/web/20010712095826/https://www.radiobremen.de/tv/archiv/lesmona.html

It says about the differences during filming (it's basically the same text that you can read here and that Samara mentioned yesterday):

This means the miniseries and the feature film were definitely filmed at the same time (not one after another because of the success), and that there were 2 different screenplays that were not identical. The main question for TMDb is -> should this be considered enough to warrant 2 separate entries? I can't say - it's complicated without watching it...
