It is so tiresome when a lesbian filmmaker makes up a completely fictional story about real people, to promote her own lesbian agenda.
The granddaughter: It was a rude surprise to see the film promoted as "the true story." The filmmakers had no contact with the family or people who knew them. When questioned about that, writer/director Angela Robinson said in an interview with Vulture, “It was a conscious choice because I really just wanted to have my own interpretation of the story.” enter link description here
The granddaughter: "Intentionally avoiding getting facts is a very clear choice. Hoaxing people into spending their money to see “the true story” and then handing them total fiction is just not acceptable." enter link description here

It's an open secret that pretty much any movie "based on a true story" is bound to be 99% fiction.

Judging from the old timey pics at the end of the movie..I naively thought it was TRUE...now I see some of the grandchildren boycott the movie due to it being completely fabricated...and the writers/director came out that this was their "interpretation" of their arrangement....which would piss me the eff off if someone made up s*** like that about MY Gamm Gamm! Someone's getting punched in the mouth! Very messed up and tainted the movie a little bit for me!
