This was an excellent movie, and put together well. It stayed true to the trailer, and put everything into perspective.

Good stuff. I liked Keanu too, though.

Cat lovers in the house!

Saw it this evening and I was very impressed. The tone of the film reminded me of Invasion of the Body Snatchers. A slow burner where the tension keeps building and building. The humor was also well handled. Very timely and not intrusive. I'd rate it 8/10.

From what I've heard about it, it's no different from a wacky Wayans movie.

I think you heard this from bias sources. The movie is more of a psychological thriller with a likable character who is kind of a conspiracy theory nut. He brings levity to the movie.

Well actually , white old people wanting to takeover the bodies of young black men is bordering on Wayanian territory.

Please explain this further? You're saying white, old people who takeover the minds of black people are a Wayan's brothers concept? I don't think I've seen this concept in any of the Wayan's works.

It's a goofy concept akin to the Wayans world but neither sibling has gone that way yet, but give it time since get out is a commercial success it may give the brothers food for thought.

Too many movies like this would quickly lose its steam, but since it made a lot of money, we might see several more movies with similar themes. We could see themes of white girls luring black men into deadly situations like organ harvesting, lynchings, and ambushes. In fact, this could be a genre. Now the fact that you're using a word like "goofy" and the fact that you haven't seen the movie makes me think you're out to deride the movie no matter what. You should see the movie before using negative words to describe the movie. It would make for a better conversation to discuss what's in the movie instead of ridiculing the movie because you don't like the concept. If you have no interest in the movie, then you must be here to try to repel other people from wanting to see it.

Maybe you should watch the film and then make comparisons. The Wayans certainly did not come to mind when I watched Get Out. Invasion of the Body Snatchers and Frankenstein did though.

I've just watched the film after being spurred on by this discussion and yes it's like the body snatchers/Wayans put together.

Lol. I did get the body snatchers feel.

I really don't get the Wayans Brothers comparison, personally. I do see what you guys mean by invasion of the bodysnatchers, because that's kind of what the family were doing. So that makes sense, but I'm lost on how it was like a Shawn and Marlon Wayans comedy, to be honest.

Jordan Peele did a really good interview on the Nerdist podcast recently. He's a smart guy and knows his shit when it comes to movies. I recommend checking it out!

Great movie, but interesting thought;

I watched the movie yesterday and within 30 minutes of watching the film, I said to myself, "This kind of has a 'Stepford Wives' vibe to it." Early today, after reading an interview with Jordan Peele about this film, he mentioned that he was inspired in part by... "the Stepford Wives."

I cannot really put my finger on how I made the comparison, but I think it has a lot to do with how normal everyone acts as a front for something sinister. Did anyone else get this vibe?

I knew that it was going to deliver. I've been a fan of Jordan since his sketch comedy show on Comedy Central. He's definitely a versatile entertainer.

Love the idea.

Yes, extremely well made. You can tell that Peele had a certain affinity for every genre of film in his comedy sketches during Keye and Peele. Lot of good stuff there. He was also on MadTV for a while. This proves the guy could be one of our better directors.

Check out a Youtube review I did for it here- https://youtu.be/Tb0kPow-1D4
