Anyone got any details on this movie? I've seen the trailer but it doesn't show anything about a monster so I'm getting the feeling its a psychological thriller.

Ron Jeremy biography.
I like that the trailer reveals absolutely nothing. It's almost a breath of fresh air when every trailer of late reveals every last detail. If we're taking bets, I'd guess it's something that is possessing people and killing others in the group. Some of the images lead me to believe that there will be hallucinations and people behaving oddly.

It's either a psychological thriller with monster as window dressing (like 10 Cloverfield Lane) or it's going to be a meta-comedy about M. Night's movie twists.

It was about the early stages of a zombie (some kind of deadly infectious virus) outbreak. This was the most mediocre film I've ever seen. Other than the acting I'm not sure what critics loved so much about it. I'm actually not even sure if the people turn into zombies so I guess it's more like a plague. All it showed is some characters breaking out and releasing blood from their mouths. It's a thriller much like Edgerton's other film "the gift". The gift was much better than this though. It's not a terrible film per se but I don't see myself ever wanting to watch it again. I'd give it no higher than a 5/10. I probably could have waited for the blu ray redbox rental. Luckily I only paid $3.60 to see this. I had a gift card for Carmike then the theater changed hands so she let me trade it the remaining $3.60 balance for a ticket to see this. It was worth $3.60 I guess. I would have been pretty pissed if I paid 10 dollars to see this.
I guess you could even consider a post apocalyptic drama similar to the road. Joel Edgerton's character reminded me of the last of us lead character "Joel".

I can't wait. I know universal is getting horror films going again and now this could really set off the fever.

You summed up my reaction to the film pretty perfectly (I even thought of The Road when I was watching it). It was definitely mediocre, and I have no desire to ever watch it again. I was going to wait to see it on $5 Tuesday at a local theatre, but I couldn't wait and instead saw it at a big multiplex for $14. It was the kind of movie where when the closing credits start rolling your instant first thought is "Well that was a waste of money."
A woman seated beside me got up to leave in a huff saying to everyone around her "What a stupid movie! Too bad!"
I did enjoy The Gift very much. Maybe Joel Edgerton should have written and directed this one too. Then it might have actually had a point.

Just before the end of the movie; I was thinking to myself..."I bet the credits start rolling about now..." I only thought that because someone said it was a crap movie, so I figured they were mad there wasn't much more to wrap up after all they've been through. I liked it because I don't mind making up my own conclusions every now and then. It certainly wasn't your typical Hollywood ending.

In answer to the OP: psychological thriller. The horror element is only really the revelation at the end.

It's not a monster movie. There are no monsters. I don't know what you watched...

[SPOILERS]
At the end you find out he wasn't dreaming in those sequences, they were just out of order and he wasn't conscious during them. He was sleep walking. You did hear growling in the wood, but I'm pretty sure that was the dog (which he then killed and brought back into the house)
