Do all film thread show up in the main forum? Not sure how this works.
Anyway, I have this movie and was planning to watch it any day now, and just my luck.... I was watching Cheers and there was a scene where someone spoiled a book for Frasier, and as he was leaving, he turns around and spoils 3 classic movies for everyone! One was Murder on the Orient Express. He says, "The murderer was everyone!"
I wont get into how annoyed I am at a TV show for doing this... But I am just curious if it is worth me even watching the film now? I watched "And Then There Were None" recently and really loved it, but part of the fun is not knowing who the murderer is until the end. If Cheers really ruined the murderer (being everyone) for me, I suppose there is no point me even watching it.
Can anyone help? Thanks!

Part of the fun of watching detective-movies (or reading books) is indeed finding out 'who did it'. Murder on the Orient Express is genius because of the bold choice to let everyone be the murderer. Perhaps the reason why this joke was incorporated in Cheers, is that the story is so well known, that it is hardly a spoiler. Although a lot of people, like yourself, haven't read it or didn't know the ending.
So knowing the outcome of this story might be a drawback, but it still remains a very good movie with excellent acting. And of course, the reason WHY they did it.
But since you brought it up. there is of course a new version in the making. I wonder how this is going te be received. Changing the story would be crazy, so we all know how it ends. I wonder if there will be other surprises which make the movie worthwhile.
But the short answer is: go see it. You won't regret it.

See it anyway. Then watch the far inferior Suchet version. instead of watchign to find the murder you can watch and compare differences.
And no the threads don't show up on the main board, just in the https://www.themoviedb.org/discuss section, which is basically an 'active topics' list.

If you find you like the character of Hercule Poirot, try "Death on the Nile." I feel that Peter Ustinov did a better Poirot than Finney.

PS They are filming the remake of Orient with Kenneth Branagh playing Poirot. Johnny Depp plays the murder victim.

They'll probably hack it too pieces as they do lots of remakes these days. Include some sex scenes, lots of swearing etc etc... and completely destroy the ending as I noticed in another remake of a classic.

No sex scenes, no swearing, and they kept the ending.
