Todd is a powerful actor with a fantastic voice. We'll have to watch the movie to see if the casting choices make sense.
I do find it weird every time I see certain Star Trek actors gathered in one movie or, in this case, a series. The first movie had Todd, Reihle, and Billingsly, and now this one adds Dorn. (You could also add Vanessa Williams who guest stars in a memorable episode of DS9 with Dorn.) It makes me think that the director or casting agent is a Trek geek that wanted to use the excuse of a movie to meet their favorite Trek actors. (Look up Dorn in particular and see how many times his roles intersect with other Trek actors.)
so true, and he used his voice well in the first movie ("a biblical figure!", "Great lord, you were one of them!") . people criticize the first one for the acting, but whatever they did it somehow worked for me, especially Todd's acting.
about the gathering of ST actors I'd say that's understandable, because 2 generations grew up watching Star Trek, from the late sixties till the 90s.
Jerome Bixby himself wrote for ST, and David Lee Smith was also in one episode of ST Voyager.
I love ST and love the references in TMFE.
also business I guess, they simply recommend each other.
