Discuter de The Batman

Which is the fight scenes. Well, let me take that back it did improve but only slightly. At least the camera was pulled back enough so you could actually see what was happening. I just don't understand why they cannot get it through their heads that Batman is a martial artist expert. So bringing in an kung fu choreographer would be ideal. A few high kicks, speed punches and broken bones never hurt a scene. Also the fact that Batman gets shot like 20 times in the movie. He never gets shot so many times. He's usually smart enough to put himself in a situation where he either uses a tool to avoid getting shot or just dodges the assailant altogether. Its seems like this director said, "Batman is super rich and can afford super ultra magically bullet proof materials to make his suit right? Alright fuck it, let him get shot." I'm not saying Batman never gets shot but it was a bit ridiculous in this film. Overall I did like the movie. My instinct is to give it 7.5 stars but I always round up. One of these days they will make a movie where Batman doesn't look like a street brawler in the fight scenes but today is not that day.

Even though Dawn of Justice wasn't that special the fight scene in the warehouse was most likely the best Batman fight scene in any of the Batman movies up to date by a wide margin. In contrast I remember watching Batman Begins DVD extras years ago and it was obvious Christopher Nolan brought in some kind of McDojo BS artists who had no idea what they were doing. It seems someone has uploaded those extras to Youtube so I'll link it if somebody wants to watch. It's painfully obvious these guys do zero sparring and are delusional to think their silly elbow strikes and punches are breaking bones not to mention pulling that crap on a resisting opponent is never going to happen. For whatever reason Nolan thought it was a good idea to have the Batman fight like these buffoons and that is a big reason why the fighting is so silly in those Nolan movies. I mean I'd understand if it actually even looked good on camera, but it neither looks good or works.

I didn't even have to watch your clip on the warehouse fight because it totally left an impression on me when I first watched it years ago. I remember when I first saw it I was like, "Now THAT'S a Batman fight!" . The Nolan films had the camera so up close to the action that you had no idea what was going on. You just saw a swirl of black cape and the bad guys dropping down. It kinda enrages me because I think Batman's fight skills are some of the most redeeming qualities to his character.

Sure, it goes all the way back to the days of Adam West playing the character on the TV show. While the fight scenes in the show showed hardly any fighting finesse, they were a big highlight of it in maybe every single episode. I used to crack up a little at the sound effects that would pop up on the screen with every blow: Whap! Smash! Thud! As I think Robert Downey Jr. pointed out, Bats isn't really a "superhero." He doesn't possess any superhuman abilities; he's a detective with outrageously expensive equipment on his side. And he can throw down in a scrap. What Chris Nolan did with those action scenes was downplay that aspect of Bats we all knew about and loved, some of us from our childhoods on.

Yeah and although the TV show's BLAM! and ZONK! was just a goofy play on the comic books, they did show how Batman & Robin would commence to whooping the bad guys just about every time. And since Batman doesn't have any super powers, he has to rely on his brains, his money (and in turn gadgets), and his superior fighting skills to actually be able to survive in the crime fighting world.

Same Bat time! Same Bat channel!

It is not a Nolan film, so it is itself an improvement.

EDIT: Sure, I loved it when in TDK the section came off of it and it was like a motor-powered unicycle.

Nolan movies are for pimpled teenagers that only discover that there are more serious movies out there, beyond superhero crap and college comedies. So they think his movies open their eyes and bring some sophistication into their meaningless existence, at least in the short breaks between watching porn and trolling on 4chan.

The pseudo philosophy of Nolan's movies is laughable at best. The guy knows how to place a camera and how to stage a scene, I'll give him that. He sure knows how to show a spectacle, but between that and praising him as a voice of a generation, it's a tough stretch. Go back to your porn, little boys, come back when you shave off your neck beard.

Well, aren't we elitist? His movies do open their eyes....

Whoa. A bit of an over exaggeration there. First off, I do not think the Nolan Batman films walk on water but I am centered enough to objectively judge them as pretty good movies. A bit over praised yes but by no means complete garbage. Like it or not, Nolan is a talented film maker. Memento and Inception are a testament to that. But just like you got fanboys there also also hateboys who will poo poo anything that has become immensely popular. Both are equally ridiculous.

I don't care that stuff becomes very popular, I just don't like when it happens from the false reasons, because something empty is hyped and marketed until people with no brain actually believe it. The construct of the importance and the value is just a trick played on them, but once they have it in their mind they just accept it as truth. It happens with everything, but when people are obviously being played for fools with something so stupid and inferior, then it upsets me.

The whole idea of Batman is to play people for fools LOL what police department in the world would hire a man dressed up as a giant bat as a consultant on crime... None. Yet you're drooling over a film that shows exactly that.

Most (if not all) of those comicbook characters are remarkably gaudily dressed though, if you just try to translate their costumes to the real world... that's what makes the MCU stuff so entertaining, and nutty, at the same time.

I really really didn't need a lesson about superhero films and the reason for their popularity I already know.

Fine, fine, my fault.
