Is that a young Robert Smith of The Cure at the end?
I'm surprised to see a trailer already. I thought this wasn't due for release for another 25 years.
I think it looks pretty good. I like that it's got a low key look to it. It doesn't seem to be trying to be "even bigger than the last one!" and revolve around some big cataclysmic event.
I'm getting some Daredevil vibes too. The way it seems to be suggesting that he might be enjoying punishing crime a little too much. They're setting up The Riddler pretty well too.
Frankly i don't think this is going be better than the Nolan Trilogy. And im not the biggest fan of those movies. But im not interested in Skinny Emo Batman Either.

Yep. Matt Reeves has been watching Spiderman III during quarantine, and thought to himself: "Let's give a DCU character an emo makeover as well"
Yeah, The Patz already looks pretty emo as it is. And I'm still not sold on the man. I like the trailer over all but I don't really like the look of Bruce Wayne.
The DCU has exhausted it's most lucrative character, and Bats could use a break. Maker Of Life willing, the financial windfall which follows the release of Gunn's The Suicide Squad will further incentive Warner to give some of these more out of the way properties cinematic treatment. Properties such as 100 Bullets and Lobo
I second that. 100 Bullets would make a great film. Though perhaps a tv show would be more apt. I'm still hoping for an adaptation of Sandman. There are so many alternative comics and graphic novels out there that need attention. Will I enjoy the new Batman film? Maybe. Do we need it? No.
The suit looks rather terrible in the trailer. Kind of like someone going into a masquerade dressed up as walmart Batman. Not that it matters if the movie itself is good, but.....well....it looks rather crappy. Kind of reminds of the Batman reveal in the end of that show "Gotham" and how everyone made fun of how he looked:
A cinematic adaptation of Human Target(another Vertigo property), which stuck closely to the source material, would've been excellent. As fun as the FOX series was, it's so-so success has likely undercut any prospects of an HT movie coming to fruition anytime soon
Can't say I've heard of Human Target. So maybe it's lack of success stemmed from a failure in raising awareness. It being based on a graphic novel would have piqued my curiosity and I would probably have given it a go had I known about it.
What's there not to like about the look of the new Bruce Wayne?
Nothing, provided that you're still rockin' out to the music of My Chemical Romance all these years later, and emulating the aesthetic that went along with it. Been along time since I've seen any of The Twilight flicks, Race, and I personally never found them execrable so much as "meh". Somehow, I suspect things as mundane as Lizzy Shue's Burger King commercials from the 80s would leave you triggered beyond all description, Race. Being completely serious when describing such an affliction as nothing less than tragic
Try posting that sober next time.
It's okay to admit that you understood exactly what I said, and got a little giggle out of it, Race
Not as giggly as you were when you wrote that.
In fairness, that post would've been more effective had I responded to each of your points individually. As of two minutes ago, I've edited it
Don't upset Damien too much, he'll get upset and report you like he did me 😂

Worse than Human Target's watered-down treatment on TV undercutting it's chances for a more faithful movie adaptation, was the c--sterfuck that was the Swamp Thing series. Chances of seeing a movie version of Alan Moore's run on the series are now nonexistent
Yeah, I did give that a few episodes because I heard people were praising it to high heaven. Can't say I saw the appeal.
I never judge how I think a film will be by its trailer as they have got it down to a science to make even the shittiest of films look spectacular in trailers. But as I suspected, Pattinson looks like an alternate universe retelling of The Batman where Bruce Wayne experimented with drugs and is freshly out of rehab ready to kick his old dealer's asses for the bunk shit they sold him. Seriously dude, bulk up. Get a hold of the steroids dealer the guys from 300 used.
