Jeffrey Wright almost never gets lead roles in anything. And he's a fine actor, I'd say, with real chops. Good for him.

As for why a white actor never gets a black role in anything - uh, because of racism? Hollywood wants to level the playing field.

That kind of playing field is not level.

Makes no sense. James Gordon was always played by a white actor and he should be white. This choice was as stupid as if someone white would play a Mike Tyson role.
