I liked the significance of his name...
The origins of American law being the devine law "Israel" and secular law of the "Roman"s, which required something in between, i.e. what the "J" stands for, Jesus, in his mercy and compassion... Even the "Esq." is meaningful as he defines Esquire as being something "above a gentleman, but below a knight", so the combative nature of law is acknowledged...
Great name, you get a characterisation of ths protagonist and a distilation of the film's central theme... Clever 😉
