I enjoyed the film, and the point of consequences of our youth effecting us and others in unexpected ways for the rest of our lives, but it got kind of painful watching the film makers repeatedly having "gotcha" moments with their protagonist throughout the work. This leads to the final "gotcha" where the author describes his work immediately after his controversial one in which he has little to no self-realization that he was essentially exploring his own story. I'm not saying bringing such things to light is not informative and entertaining, but something about the way it was done seemed to show a disrespect to their subject.

On reflection, I wonder if the film maker will have similar regrets as he reviews this film after many years of gaining wisdom. It was a good work, but this thread undermined its credibility for me.
