Lille Arild fyller sex år. Hans pappa har glömt bort hans födelsedag och hans mamma ligger på sjukhus för att föda. Pappan och sonen besöker mamma på sjukhus och åker sedan till familjens kolonilott där Arild träffar ett par pojkar och en flicka som han leker med, bland annat leker de drakflygning.
