Haven't seen the movie, but I am really looking forward to it. Do you think that the trailer will spoil it?
What I mean is, is this the kind of movie that's better viewed cold?
Also without spoiling it, would you tell me what you thought of the movie?
Thanks
Okay, so I was able to catch this gem at a festival in Austin this last September, and Christ almighty... it's sort of a horror comedy about a boy and his babysitter who are held hostage in the former's home around Christmastime. All things considered, it had a more mainstream feel to it than most of the other movies at the festival, and as the movie plugged along, I was, I mean, ENJOYING it, but it wasn't anything you hadn't seen before. Kid has crush on babysitter. Babysitter can't see him as anything but a baby. Kid has obnoxious comic-relief friend. I mean this shit is textbook. BUT: Around the time the break-in happens, this movie blindsided everyone and took the story in a direction that I've never seen done before. It was actually fucking brilliant. Unfortunately, the going-in blind was sort of crucial to my enjoyment of the movie, and knowing 2017 Hollywood, I'm taking it upon myself to protect those I'm excited to see it from the trailers. It's absolutely infuriating that I can't see any other outcome than the ads fucking up the whole point of the movie. As in, the CRITICAL reception of this movie could hinge on its portrayal in the trailer. Honestly, do all you can to avoid anything other than my recommendation. This is a special movie.
7/10 very dark comedy thriller, nice un-for-seeable twist. Very well acted by the 3 main characters and 4 others... To say much more would spoil it really...

Why does there need to be profanity and vulgarity in these posts?

I liked it. Never saw the trailer, just the movie title on a 2017 movie releases list.
