You're not alone, I often forewarn people that the funeral scene is an extremely emotional scene in the film. But, yes it is truly heartbreaking to lose a child. My sister lost her four day old son Garrett, who had a heart defect . I think it's one of the movies more powerful scenes, Laurice Elehwany was really courageous to write that scene the way she did. Because, most of the time films about death it's usually an adult who has died, not a child. But, yes a lot of people do tend to cry during that scene.

Yes, it was sad, and I remember when I first watched this film, I was with my dad. I don't think I cried, but I felt very uneasy seeing a child in a casket. I remember asking my dad the next day if that part really happened. Veda was so distraught about him, and I thought the two parent characters did a great job of acting, and emoting the devastation of the loss of a young child during the funeral scene. It was very strange to me. I suppose, after seeing Macaulay be so invincible in the Home Alone film.
