Fun Movie, with a Wonderful Danny Kaye Performance

I just watched this a couple nights ago, and now think of it as a purely "fun" film. Bouncy and entertaining, I very much enjoyed it, and it may cause me to seek out more of Danny Kaye's films. He was certainly very talented. Boris Karloff was fun, in somewhat of a spoof of his usual sinister roles.
Incidentally, this was the movie that I reached my end-of-the-year goal with! I have a special book that I review films in, and I was hoping to make it to 100 reviews by the new year. I finished my review of this movie yesterday, and felt rather proud of myself. 100 movies reviewed in 2019, though admittedly, I didn't review every film I watched this past year. There probably a good 30 or more that I didn't review.

Congrats on reaching your 100 milestone for the year - just in the nick of time! (I doubt I watched anywhere near 100 movies in 2019, though perhaps somewhere in the 50-60-ish ballpark - maybe as many as around 70-ish? - got watched.)
Well, you've gone and done it again - found another oldie-but-goodie movie that I haven't seen in so long that I can't remember anything about what I thought of it years back whenever it was that I last did see it! I know that I've seen this movie, though I'm sure it was sometime over ten years ago. I always enjoy chiming in on your threads, so am sorry to have nothing to contribute about this film. (By the way, in the event you haven't watched it yet, Danny Kaye is one of the stars of White Christmas. [I still am hoping to get around to watching that movie again possibly any day now - before the last of annual holiday season is done and over with; sometime in Dec. 2018 was when I last watched that.])

"Ta-pokitta, Ta-pokitta!" I still think The Court Jester is my favorite Danny Kaye movie ("The pellet with the poison is in the vessel with the pestle, the vessel that is blue holds the brew that is true!") , but Walter Mitty was quite fun. After awhile, his shtick got a little old for me but he was very, very popular in his day. I should go back and watch his films again soon.

Yes, it was a tad ridiculous but very fun movie. And like you, I'm still trying to get around to watching White Christmas, and I have a copy sitting on my shelf right now. I always appreciate your participation in my threads, so thanks again!
@AlienFanatic I saw The Court Jester a little over a year ago, I think. It was the first thing I ever saw with Danny Kaye, and will probably check out some more of his films soon. His style is pretty entertaining, in my opinion, though I can also see why one might get tired of it after a while.

I totally agree with the points each of you have made about Mr. Kaye. Sometimes relentless schtick can become wearing after a while.
Having said that, I've always overall liked Danny, and been an appreciator of his uniqueness and the fact that he was genuinely funny, and of course tremendously talented. The man really could do it all, from acting, singing, dancing, and doing imitations, to being zanily funny. He was very entertaining.
