Discuss Hunter Killer

but that scene where they are passing through an underwater minefield with some kind of audio sonars was a good unintentional comedy moment. In the scene you see the submarine moving in the water and making a big VROOM VROOM noise in the water while the people inside the submarine are doing their best attempt at the mannequin challenge so the enemy will not hear them. That is until one bro quickly realizes that the noise in the engine room is caused by a single bolt that needs screwing ASAP. What hollows is a gut wrenching and heart pounding thriller moment when said bro uses his wrench to fasten said bolt to end the minor engine noise that threatens their lives. The thrills are taken to the max when the bro in question accidently drops the wrench and it seems all is loss.......until another bro catches the wrench midair without making a sound!

Speaking of underwater physics. There is also a scene where the US commandos or special operators or whatever are using scuba gear and walking in the seabed while tactically pointing their guns in suspected enemy positions. Not sure what the point of that is since the guns would be completely useless underwater at any meaningful depth. Then again there is also the mandatory opposite scene where people dive into water and their enemies start shooting at them with assault rifles and you see the bullets rapidly travel past them in the water. I tell you this movie is making a complete mockery out of physics!

Maybe so, but who cares. I watch movies for entertainment and I loved this one.. Watched it a couple of times already. Doesn't hurt that Gerard Butler is the star. grin

Lol to be fair it was more enjoyable than I thought, but most scenes were a bit out there - none more so than the finale. Just how Gérard Butler calmly tuts away at his subordinates who question why they aren't firing back, with death literally seconds away...

Also in the very same scene how the Russian captain and President are just idly watching when they could've instructed the warship to intervene. Of course that would've ruined the ending but at least it would've made more sense rather than both of them just standing there like a couple of lemons!!
