OK, I could take the fantasy elements of this movie - the singing - the dancing - but what teed me off was the ridiculous note on the calendar - couldn't they have devised a better way for him to discover the escape plan? I also disliked the mandatory cruelty to a cat - it wasn't necessary and I lost most of my sympathy for the creature right there and then.
