Looking at its competition in the Adapted Screenplay category it seems a near cert to win one Oscar, which would I believe make James Ivory the oldest competitive Oscar winner in any category, ever. Unless Agnes Varda, who is nine days older than Ivory, wins for her documentary feature.
For the record, while I love both films, I would give Moonlight the (very slight) edge.

IMO "Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role" is the best chance. The kid was phenomenal and outshines all the others in the category. I feel that only Daniel Day-Lewis challenge him here, but he already has his shares of awards and so the academy may, for this reason also, favor Timothée..... my bet is he will take the statue. He deserves it.
As for the other categories; gay or no gay, it is just not the strongest contender, imo....
.... well, perhaps for; "Best Adapted Screenplay"? This category is a bit weak this year. Hard to say. This particular adaption is not a monumental achievement in itself, but I am not so familiar with the other candidates...

Denzel was amazing in Roman J Isreal, but no one seems to be talking about him, as it seems no one saw that movie... I think Best Actor will be a very tough category this year...

Yes, I hear he is good. But I also hear that the movie in itself is not so good. And this will surely effect his score somehow. Anyway, Denzel to me is always solid and he has this aura about him, but he is always Denzel. He can act, don’t get me wrong, but in the end of the day he is not a chameleon, he is a grand persona and I find it is not enough. From my pow he is never phenomenal. The boy here, I felt was truly phenomenal We shall see.
