The last twenty minutes or so were shattering. Having read the novel, I knew that the conversation between Elio and his father was coming - and am so glad that they kept it more or less intact. Superb work by Michael Stuhlbarg as well as Timothee Chalamet, who is a major talent.

And the closing shot of the film is a stunner, the most beautifully moving ending to a film I have seen in a long time.
