Infernal Affairs Trilogy is from Hong Kong not South Korea.

Three... Extremes is a collection of films from Hong Kong, South Korea, & Japan.

You are correct. Three... Extremes counts though. Sorry.

This was a lot of fun to watch and didn't take itself too seriously. I find a lot of South Korean cinema takes itself seriously but is then criminallg overblown, or let down by a totally OTT scene or too that leave me cold.

Just personal preference but I dont think that the big titles in South Korean cinema hold a candle to those of their neighbours in China, Hong Kong or Japan, despite the big budgets and glossy production values.

It'd be stupid for me to write off an entire nation's film output. Can anyone recommend anything less well known that is a bit more down to earth?
