For anyone over 15 this is garbage. It adds absolutely nothing for someone who's already seen a bunch of sci-fi horror films before. It was somewhat interesting until the thing squashed Hugh's hand. At that point it was the SAME SHIT ALL OVER AGAIN. You knew exactly what would happen. Ppl would keep doing silly things and contradicting even their own character over and over again. For an hour or so they will try to kill this thing and of course they have to fail over and over again in the most retarded ways so that it can have its grand finale. To sum up the retiredness of it all:
One minute they let people die because it's a lost cause, the next minute they try to save people and risking going down for a lost cause. Like when they try to save the Japanese guy. And at that point too when the thing has already killed several of them so it's not like you're so thrilled about what's going to happen. The thing almost got hold of the quarantine lady.
The thing is supposed to be so natural in its desire to survive but barely does anything to the bodies it kills before going out for the next one.
The thing is all fragile at the end when the ship is running out of oxygen, but it's moving around like nothing in OUTER SPACE when killing the Russian girl.
In a scene in the near end Hugh sees it pass by. Nothing happens. Until later it's revealed that the thing is on Hugh's legs. Oooh.... didn't see that one coming at all!
The chaos scene-score is a rehash of Gravity's.
The score for the other scenes is over-the-top-generic Hollywood crap.
Section thru section chase scenes: enclose, open, enclose... So fresh after half a century of sci fi. zzzzz...
The monster itself... Just another slimy octopus. Like a face hugger deluxe.
And then they have the balls to have that finish... Like after all this predictable nonsense we're supposed to be like... OHHHH... what a twist! You totally blew my mind! I'm not saying I knew all along that the wrong pod was on earth but aside from starting to get it before it was actually revealed, you think you're being clever with that after wasting 90 minutes previously? How fucking creative you are...
I just don't get how they can keep fucking shit up like this with all their budget and the hundreds of minds that goes through a production like this. I'm not asking for some cinematic masterpiece. Just a sci-fi story that will be slightly intriguing and awesome.

Hah, you remind me of Hollywood exec producers who often demanded happy endings. Victory! Salvation!
The ending was interesting, cuz Calvin started building a web in the pod, probably from Earth's gravity, and thus it might not be as mobile. Or it might have sensed trace amount of various virus/bacteria, and changed its form to cope/adapt.
