I don't know why they think that chucking a high profile cast at Agatha Christie vehicles improves upon them. Christie's plots are painfully old fashioned, implausible and somewhat silly nowadays. This one is no different. Kenneth Branagh looked ridiculous with an overdone moustache that appeared to be the result of some dreadful sinus infection that had escaped his nose and travelled halfway towards his ears. Judi Dench and the rest of the villains had about three lines each and poor Johnny Depp might as well have phoned in his part for how long he was on screen. It makes me laugh the way that Hercule Poirot with absolutely no official standing bosses everybody about and they all do as he says, even the railway workers! Not enjoyable - and quite boring in parts.
