Margo, Kelly, and CeCe have three things in common: they're roomates, they're gorgeous, and they're hooked on the glamour and excitement of L.A.'s rock and roll night life. When they get mixed up with a rock star, an arrogant ex-boyfriend, a pseudo-sadist, and the nicest nerd in The City Of Angels, it's a full night to say the least!

Margo, Kelly und Cece bewohnen gemeinsam ein Apartement in Los Angeles. Gelangweilt vom täglichen 8-Stunden-Trott im Büro, ziehen die drei abends durch das Nachtleben. In Discotheken und Bars, mit Barkeepern oder Rockstars holen sie das nach, was sie tagsüber im Büro versäumen. Doch es läuft nicht immer alles so, wie sie es gern hätten: So werden viele Frösche geküßt, doch die echten Traumprinzen lassen auf sich warten. Was sich wie ein Vorläufer der heutigen "Generation X"- Klassiker wie "Voll das Leben" oder "Singles" anhört, ist weit davon entfernt, auch nur einen Hauch von diesem Lebensgefühl rüberzubringen. Dieser Film steckt voller Platitüden, die dann ihren Höhepunkt in philosophischen Sätzen wie "Auch coole Leute haben Gefühle" finden.

Geeky Clifford a csinos Kellyvel randizik. Amikor a férfi fel akarja venni, a nő elmegy, hogy meglátogassa volt barátját, aki az egyik éjszakai klub lemezlovasa. A lány szobatársai, Margo és Cece ráveszik Cliffordot, hogy vezesse körbe őket a los angelesi éjszakai életben.

Clifford (Clayton Rohner) umówił się na randkę z Kelly (Virginia Madsen), lecz kiedy po nią przyszedł, okazało się, że dziewczyna wyszła do klubu nocnego zobaczyć się ze swoim byłym chłopakiem, DJ-em. Co dziwniejsze, pożyczyła samochód swojej współlokatorki, Margo (Daphne Zuniga). Margo i trzecia współlokatorka, Cece (Cynthia Gibb) proszą Clifforda, żeby je podwiózł. Najpierw jadą do klubu, by odnaleźć Kelly, a potem krążą po Los Angeles szukając gwiazdy rocka, Bruna X (Clayton Rohner), w którym do szaleństwa zakochana jest Cece.

Margo, Kelly, and CeCe tienen tres cosas en común: son compañeras de piso, son atractivas y las tres son adictas al glamour y excitación de las noches de rock&roll de Los Ángeles. Geeky Clifford tiene una cita con Kelly, pero cuando pasa a buscarla, descubre que se ha ido en el coche de Margo, y que va a encontrarse con su ex-novio. Margo y CeCe convencen entonces a Clifford para que las lleve primero a buscar a Kelly, y luego a dar una vuelta por la noche de Los Angeles para hallar al nuevo amor de CeCe... Un poco conocido pero considerado film de culto de los años ochenta dentro del cine juvenil, que evoca a "American Graffiti" de George Lucas, y con música de Depeche Mode, The Jesus & Mary Chain y Chris Isaak, entre otros.
