Discuss Patriots Day

Bombs just went off. Dad with toddler Leo is injured. Leo is understandably crying, but not apparently injured in any way. A cop comes over, picks Leo up while saying that line and walks away with him. Didn't get the dad's name. Didn't give his. Didn't say where he was taking the kid. And they don't get the kid back to him until the end of the freaking movie? That was like the better part of a week! That did NOT happen, did it? That had to have been a misguided attempt at drama, right?

Otherwise, the film was actually really good and felt very true and respectful to the events as I remember them. Not that long ago, actually. The action sequences were well done and refreshingly realistic feeling. Great to see J. K. Simmons kick a little ass. [word filters? really? what if i was talking about a donkey?] I think it was a 7/10 movie, but I kinda want to give it an 8 just cause.

I really liked Deepwater Horizon too. Is Marky Mark the new "dramatic thrilling rendition of real tragedies" king?

I'm watching now and I couldn't believe the cop took the kid .... I am hoping it was for effect. THe other thing I am wondering is about the cop watching over the child's body all night - if true .... why did they wait so long to move the body??

EDIT

So, the end of the movie for me showed Leo, accompanied by his mom, visiting his dad in the hospital. I don't think Leo was gone from his family. Also, they showed a photo of a kid (same movie jacket, same untamed mane of hair) being carried by a cop. That being said - I guess it was true.
