Hardly a "failure" and was tracking (and expected) to make $60 mill this weekend domestically, which it did.

You forgot the $180 mill worldwide, I'd hardly label that a "low opening". This is a "hit" no matter how you slice it.

Never said it was a failure but it is a disappointment by Fast & Furious standards.

Hopefully Universal have learned their lesson and won't rush to massage Dwayne's ego next time.

It's not a disappointment. No one ever expected this spin off to pull the same numbers as the main franchise. It's like expecting Doctor Strange to make the same money as The Avengers. This movie has met or exceeded studio expectations so far.

If they didn't expect it to be as successful as the others they shouldn't have spent over $200 million on it.

IT LOOKS AWESOME.AS THE SPIN OFF TO A SOON TO BE 9 PICTURE FRANCHISE,LOWER BOX OFFICE MAKES SENSE.I HAVE A FEELING F&F 9 WILL HAVE LOWER BOX OFFICE TOO.AT SOME POINT YOU HAVE SEEN THE CIRCUS AND YOU STOP CARING HOW MANY NEW BEARS OR TRAPEZE TRICKS THEY HAVE ADDED FOR NEXT TIME.

I didn't realize until today that 9&10 are being filmed back to back and then that's it... All over!

Well it's made over $500 million and still going strong at the box office. So I don't think anyone is disappointed.
