I actually think I liked the second one better. I thought it was funnier, and I liked the additions of Cable and Domino.

Yea, it was a close one, but I survived a deadly virus in Season 3, so nothing can take me down and there is no way I would leave my Tony. We also need to go and save Jack from the Russians.

So, this thread, my previous reply, and the ongoing conversation about it caused me to go back and rewatch DP1. Interestingly, I can see some of the criticisms some have leveled, especially as it relates to DP2. To make this exercize compete, I also then rewatched DP2...you might call this the ol' 2-1-2.

So what do I think after all that? They are both really good. DP1 seems to me to be paced differently (a bit slower?) that DP2, but seems to have a more substantial plot/through-line. I don't mean this in any technical way, but it just feels more "substantial." And of course, in it's time it was shockingly revolutionary and exciting in the superhero genre.

DP2 on the other hand, has a quicker pace, and--dare I say it--more action? There are structural similarities in how it tells the story (most obviously the "OK, you're up to speed now" bit), but the story just seems to be more shallow overall. This is offset though by the action and absolute saturation of quips and cultural references...I mean they come non-stop.

The result for me? I came back to TMDB to reassess my rating for DP2...and add a point or so. They are both excellent films, and I am so glad we have them. I'm ready for the franchise!

Frankly i found this to be more interesting than the run of the mill Bad guy vs Good Guy story line. After all this movie was about preventing someone from becoming a villain. And when Deadpool sacrifice himself for Firefist. He proved to him there were people who did care about him. I think this movie humanized him a lot more than the first movie. I mean i like the first movie and yeah its darker. But i don't think just because its darker that its somehow better.

Buuuuuuuuuuuttt....he didn't. I mean, he did, but then Cable sacrificed himself and his family to save Deadpool...in a sacrificed-but-not-sacrificed kind of way...like sacrificed the experience of them but not really them? Anyway, I am not sure this a more human or more super-human move, but as ever, the act is never really consummated. Yeah, I know, if it were: end of franchise.

I think Deadpool 1 is good compare to Deadpool 2 , In Deadpool 1 very wonderful action events. upcoming hollywood movies in Austin, Texas(TX)

Yeah, Deadpool 1 was better in my opinion. The second one was just okay to me. I actually got bored and a bit annoyed by some of the stuff during the second act at the prison, etc. That isn't to say I didn't like some of the gags and 4th wall breaking, but overall 1 was better as a Deadpool movie I thought.

The first one. Pretty much for the same reason everyone else is saying. A more cohesive story. I love them both, but the second one also seemed to be a fair bit less funny in it's final third. The first one kept the jokes going right till the end while still delivering a satisfying final act.

So many comedies tend to sacrifice humour towards the end as things get more serious and to continue to interweave comedy successfully and naturally right up to the end is a sign of very good writing and planning. One of the best examples of this I can think of would be the first Back to the Future.

DP1, definitely. That's the real Deadpool: an irresponsible, funny jerk, the tragic human avocado who can go off at a wild tangent every second second. To me, DP2 felt like a waste. Praise of family, seriously? Don't we got a slew of run-off-the-mill feelgood flicks for that? And WTH, Deadpool acting like an responsible adult? You can't be serious. Where is the real Deadpool?!

I liked Deadpool 2 better for the humor, especially with Domino.
