Haven't watched in a while but I used to love this film.

At it's core though, I thought it was more about not regretting your past and celebrating those you loved - even if ultimately it didn't work out - than sci-fi / fantasy. It was a message which resonated strongly with me at the time.

And Jim Carrey was pretty good in this - weird that a guy who became famous for being such a goofball managed to shine in films like this and The Truman Show.

The story did not flow for me. I'm a very rational person, this movie had too much stalling in it. Generally I evaluate movies by entertaining/boring ratio. Drama, romance, action, whatnot, if it is entertaining then I love them all. This one was total loss. Same with Sixth Sense, totally boring for me yet highly rated by public. For instance, just yesterday I watched Avanti! with Jack Lemmon, this I give 10/10, I enjoyed it at least 95% of time. Before that I saw The Razor's Edge (1946), brilliant, 10/10.

My dislike of this movie stems from wasting too much time as a young man falling for Clementine types. They may be beautiful and fun in short doses but soon get way too demanding and hard to please.
