Extra Details: Though often referred to as just 聲の形, the original, Japanese title of this movie is actually 映画 聲の形 – which appears on the movie’s title card, all Japanese posters and disc cases and the production company’s site. The 映画 聲の形 title is also used by Japanese Wikipedia and Japanese databases eiga.com, allcinema and others. 聲の形 should be an alternate "short title".

The only English title that shows on screen in the opening credits of English-subtitled versions – both in cinemas in the UK, in which I've seen it, and on Netflix, is the shape of voice in all lower-case Roman characters – the Japanese entries linked to above also indicate this. There is no subtitle when the Japanese title is on screen calling it A Silent Voice or A Silent Voice: The Movie.

So if local titles are also those used on screen theatrically, then the titles in the US, UK and other English-speaking countries needs to be the shape of voice, and A Silent Voice: The Movie should be an alternate "promotional title".

If local titles are those used to promote the movie in the region, the title is still wrong, as in the US, UK and other English-speaking countries the title appears as A Silent Voice: The Movie on all trailers, posters and disc cases, and also on the production company’s English site. Just A Silent Voice should be an alternate "short promotional title".
