Discusión A Nightmare on Elm Street

Surprisingly, I find they all just get a little less great, I have them ranked in almost numerical order. 1,2,3,4,5,6,FVJ,NN, Remake.

I give a lot of credit to the second one.

Most people don't like it, but I loved the highschool aspect (really they never got back into the highschool setting much after) And IMO Freddy's make up etc looked the scariest "You've got the body, I've got the brainsss" ripppp ..Doesn't get scarier than that IMO, and the soundtrack to combine. After that one he just started cracking jokes, and looking more polished

Same order but I'd put 3 before 2. Dream Warriors was just a fun ride all-around, loved the concept and Freddy's combination of wickedness and humor was top notch. I do enjoy 2 though and his more serious slasher tone worked. Also I'd throw New Nightmare in there as well, probably between 4 & 5. The remake was an excremental pile I'd like to forget happened.

NOES 84 New Nightmare Dream Warriors Freddys Revenge Freddy vs Jason 2010 Dream Child Dream Master Freddys Dead

In order (though I'm not sure Freddy vs Jason should be on the list, I've always felt that was more a Friday the 13th movie as opposed to equal parts F13 and NoES but fine) :

My favorites in order from my most to least enjoyable to watch.

  1. A Nightmare on Elm Street - Can't beat the original. A true classic.
  2. Wes Craven's New Nightmare - I love self-aware films, and it had a great finale.
  3. Freddy Vs Jason - Freddy and Jason fight it out. Just bad-@ss to watch.
  4. Dream Warriors - Fun and some great moments from the series.
  5. Freddy's Revenge - Knowing the subtext, it's interesting to see and Freddy is still scary.
  6. Freddy's Dead - Falls in the so-bad-it's-fun-to-make-fun-of territory.
  7. Dream Master - A nice new heroine, but starting to retread and lose the scary aspect of Freddy.
  8. Dream Child - Not really bad, but mostly forgettable.
  9. Remake - Lifeless.

For me 1, 4, 3, 2, 7, 5, 6 and the remake.

Nothing's touching Wes Craven's original ANOES, in spite of some wretched acting and special effects that aren't always up to snuff. After that, I'll go with New Nightmare -- the franchise is back in the hands of the master. And then, I guess I'll go with the 3rd film. That's it.

  • ANOES
  • Wes Craven's New Nightmare
  • the Dream Warriors
  • Freddy vs Jason

i dislike the others.

I thought this was going to be a thread about movies with prominent noses... lol

1, 3, 2, New Nightmare (Personally, I consider this more of a spinoff than part of the series), 4, 5, FvsJ, Remake, 6.

Dream Warriors

Original

New Nightmare

Freddy's Revenge

Freddy vs Jason

Dream Master

Dream Child

Freddy's Dead
