I thought this was a slick but cold political thriller. Very engaging, but the eponymous missy is just a bit too unlikeable. But did anyone else think it seemed like a Sorkin script for the first 20 minutes? Everyone fast talking, imparting random knowledge, walking and talking, making fast quips. Everybody ready to list dates and CVs. I actually thought it was Sorkin until after about 20 minutes it started to become a bit more mainstream.
Never heard of Jonathan Perera - this is his first script. Definitely won't be his last in Hollywood I wouldn't think!

i dont mind her being unlikeable, in fact, i think it adds an important dimension to the film and it would have been much weaker if they had made her sentimental or more "likeable"...
its not the kind of movie where you're supposed to identify with the main character, if anything, you're supposed to be a bit more detached from the subjective point of view... if you're going to relate to someone it should be to the director as its his sensibility that is being communicated...

It felt like someone trying to write like Aaron Sorkin. Still a pretty good film though.
And yeah, unlikable character is not synonymous with unlikable film.
