Discusión El show de Truman

I like to see a sequel about what happened after Truman left. He had the highest rated show on television and would be the most recognized individual on the planet. He would have obessessed stalkers, deal with culture shock and have to rely on Sylvia for support while wondering if his life is still an illusion or not. It would be pretty dark material.

Yeah, I think his world would DEFINITELY be turned upside down...he'd have to adjust to "real world" living...

best thing about this movie is a lot is left to the imagination..what DOES happen to Truman once he goes through that door? Will he LIKE or ever ADJUST to the real world? One thing is for certain, he gets to LIVE as all of us do now...no more TV show life, and that's what he felt was "off" the whole time!

There was a similar thread on another forum, a few years back. Probably the best, most in-depth response in that thread was a guy who basically speculated that Truman would ultimately be unable to adapt to being an ultra-celebrity in a world he didn't understand, and would eventually return to the corporation. If you consider that a relationship with Sylvia couldn't possibly work (due to both Truman's needing to lean on her heavily while being unable to adapt, and his unavoidable paranoia), and him likely not being able to survive on his own in the real world, he'd probably either return to the corporation's bubble or seek out some life of solitude, where people at large couldn't bother him.

Either way, he doesn't really get a fairytale ending.

Agreed..not sure he'd go back to the corporation (after all, his adoptive father very nearly KILLED him trying to keep him from reaching the wall), but a life of solitude sounds more plausible. Not to mention he'd only be a celebrity for a short while before his popularity wanes and the corporation adopts ANOTHER baby (you KNOW they'll do it!)

Sequel 'Falseman Glendale' incoming.
