Just seen it - this film is incredible!
The atmosphere watching this was so thick I thought I was going to choke. You could have heard a pin drop in theatre I was in during the actual moon scenes. Truly amazing, like Tree Of Life but with a purpose...

Top notch acting but I found the film a little dry and boring at times. Overall, it was good but not great. 7/10 for me.

I agree with J here, honestly got a little tired of looking at Ryan goslings emotionless face!

Gosling and Foy were fine with the material they had and the moon landing was spectacularly shot in a predictable way, but I found the film slow and only fitfully engaging. Armstrong is clearly a hero and significant figure in history, but that doesn't mean he was interesting enough as a person to deserve such a dry and reverential film.
For me, The Right Stuff remains the definitive film about the space programme. None of the movies released since can hold a candle to it.

Very surprised to see that as a criticism. Any other film I've seen covering something like this would have predictably cut back to mission control for the cheers and high fives, and / or cut to a gasping hand over the mouth of his wife but not here. Very refreshing and claustrophobic the way it stuck doggedly to the first man.
Maybe so but then that's not really what this particular film was about.

4/5 from me.
One of the most visually stunning films that I have ever seen and on top of that, one of the most stirring scores I've heard in a while. Incredibly well directed.

Same here. I think the movie is more of an "experience" than anything else.
Then again, I tend not to re-watch movies nowadays.

The movie is okay but the series From The Earth To Moon for me is still the definitive movie/series about the US space program (and the Apollo program in particular)in the 60's and 70's .And I think the whole problem with FM is that the Armstrong himself wasn't that communicative/interesting to begin with, and even though most astronauts weren't that strong in expressing themselves Armstrong was always a bit of an odd one even among the Astronauts themselves(they would give him nicknames like "the professor").If they had wanted to make an interesting movie about an interesting astronaut they probably should have gone for Astronauts like Pete Conrad ,Dave Scott,Gene Cernan or (from a perspective of being involved in most of the US space programs)John Young (who flew Gemini,Apollo and the shuttle program).

Probably true. But then I don't think they were interested in making an interesting movie about interesting astronauts at all in this production. That was just the backdrop rather than what the film itself was actually about.

A generous 7/10 for me. Was way boring, and I think I did not connect with anything...

If a film is 'very boring' why would you rate it 7/10?
'Very boring' to me would be a 3-4 at best, assuming it was at least competently made.

I re-watched it recently with my family... It's a very good movie... The sound track is pretty good too, very cinematic...

The soundtrack is good - I bought it after seeing the film (which is a pretty rare thing for me to do) and listened to it a lot while out running that winter. Couldn't replicate the moon surface but it made for very atmospheric listening while running through snow!

Pretty impressive watching it. I really liked how it went into some detail showing the steps involved in pulling off an excellent feat of engineering. Not the stuff of Hollywood blockbusters.
The director also just about showed enough restraint in portraying the family life without trying to portray a down to earth (!) man as something he wasn't or wallowing in sentimentality.
7/10
